and 75 play-off games in his
career.

Officiated the 1992 NBA All-star game,
the 1992 and 1996 Mexican Challenge, the
1994 European Tour in Paris, France and
Spain and the NBA-ABA Tour in Japan in
1974.
Officiated 12 years of high school and
junior college football, basketball and
baseball .
His autobiography, "Taking My Best
Shot," was published in 1996, with
proceeds from the book benefiting his
scholarship program. He is also a member
of the "Hispanic Heroes of America" book
series, with the proceeds to benefit
youth and youth programs.
Recipient of the "1999 Gold Whistle
Award of the National Association of
Sports Officials (NASO)" for community
involvement, achievement in officiating,
strong integrity and ethical standards,
one of only 12 to ever receive the
award.
Received several prestigious awards,
including, the "Rising Voices Award"
from Nestle, USA and the "Robert
Clemente National Humanitarian Award"
from the National Council of La Raza for
his accomplishments and community
service work.
Awarded the "National Hispanic Heritage
Award - Sports and Community Service" by
the Hispanic Heritage Commission in
Washington D.C.
Founder of the Arizona Hispanic Sports
Hall of Fame in 2002.
